What is Sophos Endpoint? 

Sophos Endpoint is an endpoint protection product that safeguards your laptop from various threats. It includes anti-malware, anti-virus, web and application protection, and external device security.

Is having Sophos on my computer mandatory? 

Only certain engagements require this software. If you've been asked to install it, please contact Talent Support for assistance. Likewise, Sophos removal after an engagement will require a ticket to our team, too. 

Why do I need to have Sophos EndPoint installed on my machine?

What operating systems does Sophos Endpoint support? 

At the moment, only devices running Windows or MacOS can be protected. 

How do I get started? 

After you've contacted Talent Support for assistance, you'll receive an email titled, "Welcome to Sophos Central [First name_Last name]." This email will contain instructions on how to get started. 

How long does it take to install Sophos? 

It takes about 10-15 minutes to download and install the software depending on your internet connection. 

Will I receive notifications once this is installed? 

Sophos Endpoint Protection notifies you via email when it encounters Malware and PAUs on a protected device. Malware is a general term for malicious software, including viruses, worms, trojans, and spyware.

What is Tamper Proof Protection? 

Tamper proof protection enables the administrator to prevent unauthorized users (local administrators and users with limited technical knowledge) and known malware from uninstalling or disabling Sophos through the control interface.

What are PUAs and are they harmful? 

Potentially unwanted applications (PUA) are programs that aren't malicious, such as dialers, remote administration tools, and hacking tools, but are generally considered unsuitable for most business networks.

What is malicious traffic?
Malicious traffic is traffic between computers that indicates a possible attempt to take control of your device.

What is real-time scanning? 

Scanning of items as users attempt to access them and deny access unless they are clean.

What does Sophos scan?

Peripheral Control within Sophos lets an Administrator control access to peripherals and removable media, detect and block applications that are not a security threat, and block malicious websites.

Will Sophos EndPoint affect my device performance? 

Sophos Endpoint does not slow down your device's performance. However, Sophos Endpoint Protection helps speed up your device by protecting it against bad actors.

How does Sophos Endpoint affect my privacy? 

The Sophos Endpoint Agent installed on your device does not interfere with any personal data stored on your device and does not collect data from your web browser.
