Gracefully exiting your engagement: A guide to rolling off

At the heart of Andela are two key stakeholders: you and the client. We work closely with both to ensure goals on both sides are aligned and mutually beneficial.

If you feel dissatisfied with your current engagement, aren't experiencing professional growth, or need guidance on your career trajectory at any point, please reach out to the Talent Success team. Together, we'll explore solutions that help you achieve your career goals while minimizing disruption for the client.

Strategic engagement roll-off process

Our standard engagement period is a minimum of one year. Stability is crucial for our technologists and clients, allowing for deeper collaboration and more meaningful results. If you decide to roll off an engagement, it’s essential to follow a professional and transparent process:

  1. Notify the Talent Success team: Discuss your decision with a Talent Success manager (TSM), providing a proposed target date for your departure. Remember that a 30-day notice is required, though your TSM may advise if an earlier departure is feasible.
  2. Submit Your Resignation: Send your resignation via email to talent-operations@andela.com, writing "Resignation - [your name]" in the subject line. Your email should detail:
      • The client’s name
      • Duration of your engagement
      • Your last working day (considering the 30-day notice period)
      • Any other pertinent details
  3. Schedule a live call with a Talent Success manager: Set up a call to review the roll-off process and ensure everything proceeds smoothly.
  4. Coordinate client communication: Work with your TSM to determine the best way to inform the client about your departure.
  5. Complete final tasks and documentation: Ensure all outstanding tasks are completed and properly documented to maintain a cordial relationship between you, the client, and Andela.

If the client ends the engagement

In some cases, the client may choose to end the engagement. Should this happen, your TSM will guide you through the offboarding process.

Looking ahead

If you want to take on a new engagement with Andela after rolling off, please update your profile to reflect your current skills and experience. Every situation is unique, so open, proactive communication with all stakeholders is crucial. Our team is here to support you every step of the way—reach out to the Talent Success team for guidance whenever needed.
