Congratulations on your client match! The phase after your interview is crucial, where clear communication and preparation are key. Here’s what to expect and how to proceed:
After interview feedback and follow-up
After your interview, the match team and the client's hiring manager will evaluate your performance. This feedback process typically takes about two weeks but can be quicker based on the client's deadlines.
If the feedback is positive, the match team will share the interviewer's feedback and send you a contract that includes:
- Your start date
- Working hours
- Other detailed terms
Your responsibilities
As an independent contractor, it's important to know your responsibilities to define your monthly compensation rate within the Andela Talent Cloud:
- Identification verification: Complete ID verification via Veriff before starting a job. An email will guide you through registration.
- Time off: Independent contracting does not offer paid time off, so factor this into your rates and financial planning.
- Healthcare: Health insurance options are available, but you must pay your own premiums. Andela does not cover these costs. Check our health insurance FAQs for details.
- Tax payments: You are responsible for your local tax payments. For questions, consult professionals or local geo-channels on the community platform.
Pre-kickoff and client onboarding
Before your client engagement starts, you'll meet with a Talent Success team member to receive:
- 30-60-90 day milestone document: Outlines expectations and milestones for your first three months.
- Onboarding information: Details on what to expect during your initial period with the client.

Stay informed and engaged to ensure a smooth transition into your new client role, and don't forget to contact the Talent Success team for any doubts or issues with the client. Your Talent Success Manager is your main point of contact during your engagement.
