Why was my certification not accepted?

If you’ve requested a new certification to be added to our database, our team will carefully review it. To keep our database reliable and organized, we follow certain standards and may not be able to approve requests for a few specific reasons:

  1. Certificates are better suited for the "Education" section: Your certificate is better suited for the education section if the title includes keywords such as program, curriculum, learning pathway, education track, or academic journey, for example. Please read "What is the difference between a certification and education?" to learn more.
  2. Certification details are not accurate: It’s important that both the certificate name and issuer match exactly. For example, if you enter “Professional Scrum Master 1” as the certificate but list the issuer as “Scrum Alliance,” this would be incorrect because the proper issuer is “Scrum.org.” Double-checking details ensure your certification is correctly represented.
  3. Duplicate entry: The certification already exists in the database.
  4. Spelling errors: Mistakes in names or issuers can cause issues.
  5. Expired or retired certifications: Only valid, active certifications are approved.
  6. Course completions: Learning programs or bootcamp certificates (e.g. LinkedIn Learning or Coursera) aren’t industry-accredited certifications, but they can be listed in the education section of your profile.

Note: Any certificate not accepted is not a reflection of the effort and dedication you’ve put into your achievements! However, to maintain the integrity of our database, we must adhere to these specific standards.

Approved certification examples:
