Public-Speaking Program

Andela exists to connect brilliance to opportunity. Opportunity comes in many forms, and one of those is through thought leadership and sharing your brilliance with an interested audience through speaking opportunities.

The Andela Public-Speaking Program is designed to improve the presentation skills of our community members and provide a platform to share your brilliance and expertise with the wider tech ecosystem.

This program offers a platform for brilliant and dynamic presenters in the Andela Community to share their knowledge and technical expertise with people from different backgrounds, expertise, cultures, and professions. Our mission is to initiate thought-provoking discussions focused on learnings that can lead to growth and career advancement in the tech ecosystem. 

The speaking opportunities are, but are not limited to: 

• Andela Community technical talks: These online talks are hosted exclusively for the Andela Community and are supported by the Community team. As a speaker, you can choose a topic you are passionate and knowledgeable about and the Community team will help you to prepare your presentation and will advertise your session on your behalf. You can also choose to have a co-facilitator and a session format of your choice. These sessions are a great opportunity to develop and improve your public speaking skills. 
  
• External-facing webinars: These sessions are facilitated and sponsored by Andela’s Talent Marketing team and the topics could range from high-level thematic areas such as traditional stacks (Front end, Back end, e.t.c), emerging technologies, system design e.t.c. The sessions are open to Andelans and an external audience and will be widely-publicized on platforms such as Andela’s blogs and on social media. These sessions are a great chance to raise your profile!
• Local Meet-Ups and Conferences: These speaking events are facilitated by external bodies and come with opportunities for talents to showcase their technical expertise in those forums! The Community team will on occasion request volunteers to speak at these events on behalf of Andela but don’t hesitate to let us know if there is an event you want to speak at or if you get invited to speak, as we are always excited to collaborate and support you.
