Some things have changed, and we’re so glad you’re here to experience our redesigned community. We know this is a big change from what you’re used to, so this article will explain exactly where everything is.
A new community structure: introducing spaces
We’ve moved to a forum-based community where conversations are more organized, and finding information is easier than ever!
In our spaces you’ll find:
- Structured discussions: Posts are now organized in spaces, making conversations easier to follow and more in-depth.
- Longer-lasting value: Unlike chats that disappear quickly, forum posts are permanent and searchable, creating a lasting knowledge base for all community members.
This new system will allow for better collaboration, a richer exchange of ideas, and a more engaging experience for everyone!
More organization with Tags
Tags help us organize our content more deeply across all spaces. Additionally, just like spaces and posts, you can also subscribe to tags so that you never miss a new post that interests you.

All of our chat #skill-channels have gotten a makeover! Now you can find all of the messages that were previously in the channels organized by tags across:

Announcements
Announcements is now the only announcement space in the community organized by tags. Now you’ll find all of our perks , high-priority-job, weekly-announcement, and more in Announcements.
Previously, these were scattered throughout our community across different channels:

- Announcements
- Feedback-product
- Support
- Opportunities jobs
Although only admins and staff can post in this space, you are encouraged to engage with us in the comments.
More reliable personal message notifications
Your personal messages will now look more like a full-fledged email inbox than a series of chats.
Now, all of the personal messages you exchange with Andela staff or fellow Andelan will automatically sync via email, and you’ll be able to reply from within your email inbox, or the Andela Community.
In addition, you have more format and editing power than ever before - add in markdown or HTML into the composer to send an EPIC message.
Writer’s Room program
The old #opportunities writing has been transformed into the Writer's Room Blog Submissions space. From now on, you can make your blog submissions into the program directly in this channel. Just click on + new post, and follow the template.

Product feedback
Our Feedback-product chat channel has been transformed into our Product Feedback space, which is divided into Feature requests and Bugs. All posts in Bugs automatically raised to our support team. And what’s even better, now you can add in feature requests and upvote your favorite requests.
You’ll get a limited number of votes based on your trust level.

Raising tickets to support
Instead of DMing a bot, you will now always have access to our Andela Support team on the bottom left-hand side of your screen. You’ll get recommendations for useful Help Center articles and be able to raise a ticket all within our new support widget!
