The EPIC Challenge: Rules and Overview

Welcome to the EPIC Challenge, an Andela Community competition that will put your technical skills to the test, and improve your matching potential, all while giving you a chance to earn your share of our 5000 USD prize pot! How great is that? Twenty lucky winners may be selected, earning $250 each.

For a chance to win one of the 20 prizes, you’ll be challenged to attempt an Andela Assessment, and you’ll receive additional free entries when you achieve a passing score! Andela Assessments can be started directly from within the Andela Platform. We know you’ve got this in the bag! 

Additionally, you’ll have access to our EPIC Challenge Leaderboard, where you’ll be able to see how you measure up against the competition. The leaderboard displays all assessments passed during The EPIC Challenge and considers both your scores and timing. We can't wait to see you rise to the top!

The EPIC Challenge will be live from August 16 to September 19, and the complete list of winners will be announced at our September 20 Community Town Hall. Are you ready to get started?

🍯Here is how to earn free entries into the prize draw:

1. Earn one free entry for attempting any Andela Assessment between August 16 and September 19 at 11:59pm EST, regardless of your final score. 
2. Earn two more free entries for passing an Andela Assessment between August 16 and September 19 at 11:59pm EST. 
3. Earn an additional two free entries by passing another Andela Assessment between August 16 and September 19 at 11:59pm EST. 
4. You can receive a maximum of five free entries into The EPIC Challenge.

If you fail an assessment, you will have to wait 30 days before retaking it. While there are no exceptions during the EPIC Challenge, we recommend trying a different assessment so you can secure your entries into the prize draw. And, of course, make your first attempt count! 🤑Prize awards 

We have a total prize pot of 5000 USD. This means that 20 lucky winners will get their share of the pot, earning $250 each. All prizes will be awarded in the form of a Hoppier card and delivered to winners via email within a week of their selection.

🏆Winner announcements: 

Five winners may be selected weekly from the entry pool starting on August 30 and shared with the entire Andela Community via email. Winners can only win the prize once and will be removed from the draw once selected. The final five winners and a complete list will be announced during September's Town Hall Event on September 20, 2023.

If you’ve been selected as one of our lucky winners, congratulations! You’ll be hearing from our procurement team with instructions to redeem your $250 Hoppier card within a week.

• Terms and conditions apply 
• This coding challenge is open to Assessed Talent Network members only.
• Passing additional Andela Assessments after you’ve received your 5 maximum free entries will not grant you additional entries into the prize draw.
• Andelans who passed an Andela Assessment before August 16 and after entering the talent network (not through the application process) will automatically be added to the tournament with three free entries to the draw. They will receive a confirmation email on August 17, 2023.
• Those Andelans who qualify for the three free automatic entries can only earn two additional entries into the prize draw if they pass another Andela Assessment by September 19 at 11:59 PM EST.
